I have spent the last thirty-eight years as a gastroenterologist here at Atlantic Digestive Specialists (going back to the days when we started as Gastroenterology Professional Association, with just two physicians). Over this period I have had the privilege of taking care of your GI needs and also treating thousands of other individuals from this community.
Therefore, it is with very mixed emotions that I am announcing my decision to retire from the practice of medicine and to leave Atlantic Digestive Specialists. I expect my last day of practice will be at the end of July.
Fortunately our practice, Atlantic Digestive Specialists, has continued to grow and thrive since those early days. After my retirement, we will have five other gastroenterologists here in Somersworth, including Sukeerti Kesar MD (who will be joining us in August). Any one of them, or one of our additional five physicians who are based in our Portsmouth offices, would be qualified and happy to take over any ongoing needs you may have. You can learn more about all of them at our website, www.atlanticdigestive.com. I am glad to have left the care of my patients in their very capable hands.
Of course, you may also seek your gastroenterology care from another doctor if you prefer. I would recommend looking for a new gastroenterology specialist as soon as possible.
Your medical records are confidential, and will remain with Atlantic Digestive Specialists. You do not have to do anything to effect that transfer. If you choose to you can also have your records released to another doctor who is not here at Atlantic Digestive Specialists, or you may have your records released to you or another person you designate, but only through your written permission. If you do choose to see a physician who is not part of Atlantic Digestive Specialists, please request an authorization form from us, complete it, and return it to our office as soon as possible, so that we may transfer your records to your new doctor. Until then, your records will remain on file with our practice.
